Branding
Marketing tip of the day:
Before creating your business tagline, try to define your business in 3 words. Try to introduce your business to prospective clients in just 3 words. Focus on what you want your consumers to know about your brand and product. For example, Younique: beauty, mineral, cosmetics.

Words to live by: Intelligence and Ambition
Salvador Dali was a creative figure, but definitely an intelligent and ambitious man.
When you're intelligent but not an ambitious person, you don't have the will and the courage to pursue your dreams and exceed yourself to become a successful person.
A bird without wings doesn't fly. He doesn't die either, but he will stay on the ground, feeding himself from the ground, looking up at the sky, imagining the possibilities without the possibility to fly.
Someone with ambition is someone with dreams and goals in life, and the intelligence will just make those dreams and goals a reality.

The Wonders of Being Self-Employed
Being self-employed isn't fun and games as many people think. Having your own schedules, being your own boss, being able to work in any place, it might sound like heaven to most people. But it requires a lot of work, 24h a day, thinking about strategies, how to advertise your products, do the actual advertising, taking care of customer relationships, and so on.
But we would lie if we said that there aren't any benefits in being self-employed.
To start, you are your own boss. No more grumpy bosses, no more boring meetings, no more trying to please someone else and figure if the boss is in a good mood or not.
Your earnings are yours and yours alone. If you work hard and give 110% of your energy and soul, all the profit will be yours, not only financially speaking, but in terms of achievements as well.
You work at your own pace. If you're more productive at night, you can work at night and sleep all morning. You can stay at home with your kids and work from home, or you can travel and stay by the pool, enjoying the sun and work. Plus, you won't depend on anyone when you want to schedule your vacation.

Quote of the day: Profit !
Profit isn't random, and should never be seen as random, as something that comes at the end. When we think about profit, it should be planned for in the beginning, to be taken as a goal, something to work for.

Products Are the Key
This quote from Seth Godin couldn't be more accurate regarding Direct Sales business. What happens sometimes is that the direct sellers are more focused on finding new customers in order to enroll their client list, but they tend to forget sometimes the clients they already have, the loyal ones. So here's an advice: find products for your costumers, and don't focus too much on finding new customers for your products!

3 Simple Rules in Life
Today's tip of the day is 3 little simple rules in life that have a lot of impact on your seller profile and on the way you see yourself as a professional direct seller.
1. Don't procrastinate, if you want something don't wait for it to fall into your lap, go out and work for it. Don't take success for granted, it takes sweat and hard work but at the end, the feeling of mission accomplished, and having what you really want is priceless!
2. Take risks, get out of your comfort zone and ask, you will never know what the answer will be. You already know that the answer can be a round "no" but what if it's a yes?
3. Move forward: don't stay at the same place, make a plan, make a new plan if the first one doesn't work, but remember, don't give up!

5 Steps That Will Keep Your Direct Sales Party ALIVE
I have been successfully involved in direct sales and the home party plan business for several years now. I am often asked how I have been able to keep my home party business alive and thriving all these years.
Several years ago during a direct sales training I put together an acronym with 5 actions you should take each week to ensure you create a successful direct sales business. I call it 5 Alive & Thrive!
These five steps and principles will help you be more successful in your direct sales or home party plan business. They will also help you see consistent results and consistent income from your business.
Here are the 5 actions you can take each week to keep your direct sales business alive and thriving!
A – Ask at least 10 new people to host a party! (at a party, or via dating calls, customer care calls, out & about, invite them to your team meetings & events)
L – Look for new places to leave business cards, hang up fliers, place lead generation boxes, set up for vendor events… Market your business everywhere! Leave a paper trail (but don’t liter).
I – Invite at least 10 new people to join your team! (at a party, or via recruiting calls, customer care calls, out & about, invite them to your company’s opportunity events & webinars)
V – Visit with your success line! Contact your upline / manager / director for a weekly encouragement, accountability & goal setting session
E – Educate & empower yourself by attending any team, company or related direct sales success meetings or training calls or webinars being held each week or listen / watch recordings from past team, company or other direct sales training calls or webinars. Also read books and newsletters from business, direct sales and success coaches.
Remember, direct sales is all about marketing and connecting with customers and potential customers, hosts and team recruits. You will always get back exactly what you put into your business. If you want to see bigger, better and more consistent results, then talk to more people and work on a consistent basis. Your success is up to you!

Benefits of Being Your Own Boss
1. You’re in Charge of Your Income. This can be seen as a pro or a con at first, but eventually the sky will be the limit as you develop your business. In the beginning, seeking self-employment might not make you as much as you used to, and you also may have to worry about issues like individual insurance coverage. The huge advantage is the fact that you keep every dime that you make and your salary is not capped by your employer.
2. You Have Creative Control. You get to make all of your decisions, no one else is telling you what to do. This is huge because many people run into boredom issues at their jobs. You do what you want, when you want.
3. You’re Responsible for Your Success. If you’re self-employed you can truly make a difference when you start your own business. This is because the success of the business lies on your shoulders. When you work for a large corporation, it’s easy to mix in with the rest of the employees and feel like it doesn’t even matter whether or not you show up to work. While you’ll still have to work hard when you’re self-employed, you really matter because you are your business.
4. You Set Your Own Hours. Setting your own hours is a huge advantage. You know yourself best and you’ll be able to build a schedule that’s most efficient for you. If you want to work really hard one day, and take a half day the next day, that’s perfectly fine when you’re self-employed. You can work all night and sleep all day if that’s your personal preference!
5. You’ll Be Challenged. Most people will find that they not only reach a salary cap when they work for someone else, but they also reach a point where they’re no longer challenged. When you embark on this new journey for yourself, it’ll be a risk and it’ll be a challenge. Also, as you keep gaining experience and income, you’ll continue to be challenged as you reach higher and higher levels.
6. You Can’t Get Fired. This is a great reason in itself. In the self-employment world you can’t get fired! You can change your mind about certain business opportunities, but that would just be shifting the focus of your business, you’d never be firing yourself. This takes a certain amount of burden off your shoulders because you don’t need to worry about someone suddenly taking away your income just because of cutbacks even if you’re doing a superb job.
Remember that there’s always a certain amount of risk associated with making a major change in your life. It’s never easy when it involves income and the future of your family. However, if you want to be your own boss, you can certainly do so. It may end up opening many doors to better your financial future.
10 Steps to Success in Direct Sales
1. BE A GOAL SETTER. What do you want to accomplish? Do you want to save for college educations for your children? A new car? A new home? You can have whatever you want, but you must want it enough to do the things that have to be done to get it. Whatever your goal, write it down and set a target date for reaching it. Divide the time period into blocks of achievement that are reachable. Work consistently toward accomplishing each day, each week, each month what you set out to do. Goal-setting is a must in every area of life. Little is ever accomplished without definite goals.
2. BE A LIST MAKER. Each evening list all the things you want to get done the following day. That gives you an organized approach to each day. As each task is finished, mark it off your list. It is amazing how much gets done when one works with a "things-to-do" list. Also, have a notebook listing appointments, potential clients, repeat clients, and referrals, and keep it with you at all times. You will be adding to it constantly.
3. BE ENTHUSIASTIC. Enthusiasm is the high-octane "fuel" that salespeople run on. Enthusiasm generates its own energy. Energy and good health are synonymous with busy, happy people, people who are achieving.
4. RECOGNIZE THAT THE MAGIC WORD IN SALES IS "ASK." In direct sales we don't have to wait for business to come to us. We create our own business by asking for it. Ask for appointments, then you can do business. Ask for business, then you will close sales. Ask for referrals, then you always have a full list of potential clients. Be quietly, yet firmly aggressive.
5. EXPECT NO'S. Realize that nos are not personal. In sales, as perhaps nowhere else, the law of averages works. Every no gets you closer to a yes. Keep track of your ratio. It will help improve your techniques. Are you getting ten no's to one yes? Is your ratio five to one? Remember, the yes's are your income. Also remember that "no" does not necessarily mean "no." Often a "no" is simply a stall for more time to think. It may be a request for more information about your product or your service. What your client is actually buying is assurance. Assure here by your helpful attitude and your complete honesty, that you want what is best for her. She will most likely respect you and do business with you.
6. SCHEDULE TIME WISELY. A schedule is the road map by which salespeople travel. It takes the frustration out of the day. It assures that the necessary things get done and get done on time. Plan your work then work your plan.
7. BE POSITIVE IN YOUR ATTITUDE. Success in sales, as in all areas of life is 90 percent attitude and 10 percent aptitude. All of us must work at developing habits of constructive thinking. I am proud to be a salesperson. Sales make the wheels of our economy turn. Bernard Baruch, adviser to several presidents, is quoted as saying, "If every salesperson sat down and took no orders for twenty-four hours, it would bankrupt our country." Every company that manufactures any kind of product depends upon salespeople to move that product. Without salespeople business would be paralyzed.
Remember, sales is one of the highest paid of all professions. Statistics show that good salespeople enjoy incomes far above the average.
8. HAVE AN OFFICE AREA. Most direct salespeople work from their own homes, but it is essential to have a place where you can work in a organized and efficient manner. An office plus a strict working schedule gives you dignity. Both are absolutely essential for efficient operation and accurate record keeping, so important to the success of any business.
9. BE INVOLVED. Most sales organizations offer contests to stimulate production. Include winning contests as part of your business goals. Contests make your business fun as well as adding considerable dollar value to your income. One of my prized possessions is a lovely grandfather clock earned as a contest prize.
10. LEARN TO HANDLE MONEY INTELLIGENTLY. A regular nine-to-five job usually means a paycheck at the end of the second week. Direct sales "reps" handle money constantly. Direct sales is instant income and constant income. Therefore. it is absolutely necessary to become an efficient money manager.
I deposit every penny collected into a checking account set up especially for my business. Since bank statements show an exact record of all monies collected, and business expenses can be verified by cancelled checks, record keeping becomes simple and accurate. Everything except a few "petty cash" transactions can be directly taken from bank statements.
Money saved regularly and put at interest, soon develops a second income in addition to earned income. A long-term goal, which is realistic in direct sales, is to be able to live in retirement off the interest earned on savings.
Would financial security mean a lot to you? If so, ask yourself these questions:
Am I honest?
Do I really like people?
Am I willing to learn?
Am I willing to work?
Am I capable of being my own boss?
If your answers are yes, I encourage you to find a good product for the direct sales market, one that you like, one that fills the need of a lot of people, and go to work for yourself. You can turn dreams into reality.
